Training residents and licensed mental health professionals knowledge, competencies and skills to practice equine facilitated psychotherapy with a variety of clients and mental health diagnoses

Dr Ioana Marcus has taught for nine years as a full-time professor with Marymount University in Arlington , VA. In 2015 she became the Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. In 2018 she became tenured and an Associate Professor with the University. Throughout her time there she developed eight new courses both at the master’s and doctoral levels, taught numerous other courses, collaborated towards the CACREP accreditation of the program, advised students, and served on numerous dissertation committees, as well as nationally presented with her students. Some of the courses are outlined below. Presently, Ioana continues to teach as an adjunct professor with George Mason University.
